Temporarily closed
Owning and running a tearoom has been a dream of mine for almost 30 years.
I began this little tearoom business in 2019 with what I had, and I did what I knew at that time.
Since then, I have learnt so very much about tea production, manufacture as well as, accumulated some amazing tools, and have been gifted so many very pretty things. I have met the most amazing people, My guests, business partners and team members.
2020 and 2021 were tough navigating covid but my little team and I managed with great success. Growing and expanding.
2022 has been an extremely tough year for me personally. Which in turn has affected my ability to manage as an entrepreneur.
I had a hysterectomy mid February to avoid cancer, spent all of March recovery unable to work at regular physical duties.
Because of “busy” meal planning has been lost and forgotten this year. Thus my allergies, food intolerances and such are causing havoc with so many aspects of my body. When I eat yeast, vinegar, bacterial cultures, dairy or beef my insides complain. I am feeling it. A whole30 is recommended. Who would like to join me?
Forgetting to put myself first, not getting my physical exercise done nor regular quiet times has taken a toll as well on my health. The benefits of regular consistent exercise are phenomenal. We know it, yet many of us don’t take great care.
Battling Covid at the beginning of September has left me feeling empty, no energy, I am finding breathing very difficult. I tire so very easily. Both my husband and I had covid early September. He has managed to get back into his regular routine, but I am struggling.
A family wedding, that happened early October, opened a box of emotional trauma from my first marriage that perhaps needs to be dealt with properly once and for all.
As you can see, I have some personal health issues, both physical and emotional, that need more attention than I have been giving, I can not ignore them any longer.
I will be closing the tearoom temporarily; I will not be organizing any events for the remainder of the year unless I do feel better sooner.
The gift shop is open though, with lots of delicious loose-leaf tea available for purchase as well as other teatime necessities. New in the tearoom gift shop, Teapots.
I am so thankful for a circle around me of the most wonderful caring people who understand, have patience and support me with encouraging words through messages, visits, phone calls and letters. I look forward to hosting Afternoon Tea once again in the new year.
Until then, please follow Facebook and Instagram but also come visit the blog here often to keep up to date on my progress. I will continue to post on social media, and plan to share more here on the blog. Would you like more recipes, Afternoon tea history, tea facts and help to enjoy teatime at home?
As Thanksgiving weekend approaches, I reflect on how thankful I am for what I have accomplished thus far, with your help, for the Tearoom. I wonder what we can do together in 2023 ?
Happy Holiday weekend !
