Dragonfly Delights Tea Room  is seeking to build an experienced Culinary TEAm.

Starting wage, as well as a generous cash tip pool, can be discussed.  

 Dragonfly Delights Tea Room has been acknowledged as one of the top 10 places to eat while visiting Brandon by Tourism Manitoba.

Opening April 2025, the Tea Room will be located at Clear Lake, in Riding Mountain National Park a popular tourist destination of Wasagaming.

 The Tea Room will be a newly renovated space with a brand new commercial kitchen, front of house, dining area and deck seating.

 The Tea Room has always been and will continue to be a home made, made from scratch kitchen, with a constantly changing and evolving menu to accommodate the local produce that the area farmers and producers supply.

 The Tea Room is seeking passion driven cooks, and aspiring Chefs to join our team. We offer a professional, educational environment that provides challenges, creative opportunity, and room for growth and advancement within the business.

 The Tea Room will offer staff housing, shared tip pool amongst other perks. The right candidates must possess an inner motivational drive that strives for excellence always and two professional references. Skills required: hard working, positive attitude, an eye for detail, great team player, creative mind, love of food, hospitality and always willing to try new things.

 Full time, part time and casual positions with shift possibility of a maximum 10-hour work day with breaks scheduled. April days of operation are Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. May and June will add Thursdays and Tuesday with the tearoom operating seven days a week through July and August. September and October the days of operations will reduce once again. Wages are based on education and experience with the sharing of a generous tip pool. 

License/Certification: Food Safe, Safe Serve, Food Handler, Standard First Aid/CPR preferred but training will be provided. This will be an excellent learn by doing experience.

Chef

Chef is responsible for being a part of creating a seasonal menu, focusing on savory items, sourcing recipes, creating a supply order list, testing the recipes. Chef prepares soups, salads, and sandwiches, plating the orders with the help of other kitchen staff. Chef must always keep the workstation in good order.  Chef will be responsible to correctly use all equipment, maintain it and report any concerns. Chef is responsible for other duties as required.

Line Cook

Help chef prepare food, plate orders as instructed. Must always keep the workstation in good order. Line Cook will be responsible to correctly use all equipment, maintain it and report any concerns. Line Cook is responsible for other duties as required. Training will be provided.

Baker

Baker is responsible for being a part of creating a seasonal menu, focusing on sweets and scones, sourcing recipes, creating a supply order list, testing the recipes. Baker prepares scones and sweets helping plate the orders with the help of other kitchen staff. Baker must always keep the workstation in good order. Baker will be responsible to correctly use all equipment, maintain it and report any concerns. Baker is responsible for other duties as required.

Kitchen Help

Help baker prepare food, plate orders as instructed. Must always keep the workstation in good order. Kitchen Help will be responsible to correctly use all equipment, maintain it and report any concerns. Kitchen Help is responsible for other duties as required. Training will be provided

The Tearoom will be serving Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon Tea to its guests 7am-7pm daily

 

Server

Server is responsible to meet and greet the guests at the table, introducing themselves. Server is tasked with making the guest’s time at the tearoom as pleasant as possible. Taking orders, passing them on to the kitchen staff. Server ensures that every course is served in a timely manner, according to a set order of operations implemented by the owner, helping kitchen with anything that needs to be done. Server will be responsible with clearing tables and resetting as necessary. Training will be provided.

Dishwasher

Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning the dishes according to public health codes. Scrape, wash rinse, disinfect and they are put away. Dishwasher will be required to handwash all delicate china used to serve specialty menu items. An automated dishwasher will be in use for all stoneware used for regular menu items. Dishwasher will be responsible to correctly use the dishwasher, maintain it and report any concerns. Training will be provided.

 

Beverage Artist

The beverage artist is responsible for being a part of creating a seasonal menu, focused the accompanying beverages to highlight the delicious meals prepared by the kitchen staff. The beverage artist will be responsible for preparing such beverages for guests as coffee, tea, smoothies, as well as prepare and serve specialty alcoholic drinks. The beverage artist must always keep the workstation in good order.  The beverage artist will be responsible to correctly use all equipment, maintain it and report any concerns. CThe beverage artist is responsible for other duties as required.

Dragonfly Delights Tearoom is excitedly working towards moving in to its “brick and mortar” location autumn 2024 and opening in April 2025.

All employees will be required to hold a food handlers certificate, first aid certificate and a smart choices certificate, Non violent crisis intervention or Working effectively in the violent and aggressive state. Training will be provided for these certifications if candidate does not hold them.

The team is exactly that, a team. Although we have our titles and assigned duties, if needed each team member will help with other responsibilities. Every team member will be responsible to help with laundry, housekeeping, bussing tables, collecting garbage, washing dishes, watering flowers, and preparing orders.
