The difference between Dragonfly Delights Tea Room and other restaurants goes far beyond great food and wonderful service. It's who we are. Creating a calm atmosphere, along with made from scratch culinary offerings and wonderful customer service all the product of my phenomenal team.

I am seeking to build an efficient team for the tea room’s exciting new location opening summer 2024. These team members must have great retail and customer service skills. Plus the willingness to learn to try new ways of serving. Working at Dragonfly Delights Tea Room is an opportunity to serve friendly customers providing them with an exceptional dining experience.

My team members work together, including with myself the owner, to bring to life the Tea Room’s mission – “Dragonfly Delights Tea Room is in the business of creating lasting memories through the delightful experience of sharing tea” So this can happen, I will provide ongoing training with regard to hospitality, restaurant knowledge and afternoon tea etiquette.

Team Member Requirements:

Previous retail or restaurant experience preferred, but not required.

Wear a smile even when you don’t feel like it

Eagerness to learn and put the learning into practice

Calm demeanour even under stress

Ability and knowledge to lift and carry heavy boxes properly preferred

Casual business attire as your work wardrobe with an apron for front of house or culinary uniform in the kitchen

A flexible schedule with the ability to work many weekends, June – October

A respect for all things vintage, pretty, grandma-ish

Willingness to participate in ongoing training, cpr first aid, safe serve, food handlers and more

 Positions available

Chefs

The chef is responsible for being a part of creating a seasonal menu, focusing on savory items, sourcing recipes, creating a supply order list, testing the recipes. The chef prepares soup, salads, sandwiches, plating the orders. The chef must always keep the workstation in good order. The chef is responsible for other duties as required.

Line Cooks

Line Cook is responsible for helping Chef as needed with creating soups, sandwiches and salads,helping plate the orders. Line Cook must always keep the workstation in good order. Line Cook is responsible for other duties as required.

Bakers

Baker is responsible for being a part of creating a seasonal menu, focusing on breads, sweets and scones, sourcing recipes, creating a supply order list, testing the recipes. Baker prepares scones and sweets helping plate the orders. Baker must always keep the workstation in good order. Baker is responsible for other duties as required.

Kitchen Helpers

Kitchen Help is responsible for helping Baker as needed with breads, sweets and scones, helping plate the orders. Kitchen Help must always keep the workstation in good order. Kitchen Help is responsible for other duties as required.

Dishwashers

The dishwasher is responsible for cleaning the dishes according to public health codes. Scrape, wash rinse, disinfect and they are put away. The tearoom handwashes made of their dishes but  an automated dishwasher will be in use. The dishwasher will be responsible for correctly using the equipment, maintaining it and reporting any concerns.

Bussers

The bussers are responsible for clearing tables and resetting them according to reservations and availability for walk-ins. Their responsibilities will include taking the dirty dishes to the kitchen. Clearing the soiled linens to the laundry. The busser will then reset the table with clean linens and set the table accordingly.

Servers

Server is responsible to meet and greet the guests, with a smile and genuine hospitality, introducing themselves. Server is tasked with making the guest’s time at the tearoom as pleasant as possible. Taking orders, passing them on to the kitchen staff. Server ensures that every course is served in a timely manner helping kitchen with anything that needs to be done. Server will be responsible with clearing tables and resetting as necessary.

Beverage Artist

This position encompasses everything from bartender to barista and tea sommelier. Even the creation of morning smoothies. A knowledge of these areas is beneficial but some training will be providing and ongoing learning an absolute must.

 Front of House Cashier

The Tearoom anticipates a very busy grab and go counter with take out being constant. The front of house cashier should be familiar with POS Square or have the willingness to learn and become absolutely proficient with it. This position will require an excellent knowledge in making change.

 All team members will be required to hold a food handlers’ certificate, first aid certificate and a smart choices certificate.Training will be provided for those who need certifications or renewals.

Although each team member has their own title and assigned duties, if needed each team member will help with other responsibilities. Every team member will be responsible for helping with laundry, housekeeping, bussing tables, collecting garbage, washing dishes, preparing orders.

  The goal of Dragonfly Delights Tea Room is to provide delicious, made from scratch culinary offerings, wonderful customer service, expertise in afternoon tea etiquette in a quiet calming atmosphere.
