Why not Have your own Spring Tea Party
Having a tea party is not just about drinking tea; it’s about slowing down and enjoying the moment. Throwing a tea party with that grandmacore touch means taking the extra time to make is memorable. Imagine vintage teacups, homemade goodies, and attentive conversations.
Start your hunt now for all the necessary items to create your own Afternoon Tea Party while you wait for my little tea room to open so that I can once again host you and your guests.
Vintage Tableware: Break out the lace tablecloths, floral china, and those fancy teacups you never use. Mixing and matching patterns can add charm.
Fresh Flower Centerpieces: Pick some wildflowers or make arrangements from your garden blooms if available to decorate the table. Lower vases and smaller arrangements ensure that guests can converse with each other more enjoyably as they will be able to see each other.
Homemade Scones and Jams: Bake some scones and serve them with homemade or artisan jams. Don’t forget clotted cream if you can find it!
A Variety of Teas: Offer a selection of loose-leaf teas, including classic black tea, green tea, rooibos and some herbal options for non-caffeine drinkers.
Finger Sandwiches: Prepare a few types of finger sandwiches, like cucumber, egg salad, and smoked salmon with cream cheese. Do ask guest about allergies and dietary restrictions. Not only will you be able to prepare something they will actual be able to enjoy. This will show a measure of kindness.
Tea-Infused Cocktails: For a modern twist, offer a tea-infused cocktail or two
Old-Fashioned Desserts: Think lemon bars, Victoria sponge cake, or petit fours. Anything dainty and sweet will do the trick.
Tea Party Attire: Encourage your guests to dress in their spring best or even in vintage or grandmacore-inspired outfits. Fascinators, hats an absolute must.
Background Music: Create a playlist of soft, vintage tunes or classical music to set the mood without overpowering conversation. I am absolutely obsess with pianist turned composer Jean-Michel Blais. His piece Amour touches the soul.
Crafting Corner: Set up a small area where guests can try their hand at a simple craft, like making bookmarks or pressing flowers, adding a hands-on, nostalgic activity to your party.
A Tea Time Party is a wonderful way to celebrate the season, to celebrate anything really. A tea party is an opportunity to make everyone feel special.
Enjoy!
