Bringing Spring into your Home

I am drawn to pretty things, flowers are pretty therefore I am drawn to many floral patterns. Vintage floral patterns are definitely something grandma would have had. Floral patterns, no matter where they are, whether on wallpaper, upholstery, draperies, a pillow, linens all give a feminine touch adding a softness that is classic to grandmacore. Can one have too many flowers? Decorating with florals is a way to bring the outdoors inside and add a cheerful tone to your day.

Spring, the way Grandma did

Spring arrived Tuesday March 19th and with that for me, an urge to deep clean, I mean really, really deep clean. Sending some items to the good will store, opening the windows to let in the fresh spring air, scrubbing everything everywhere, changing linens, curtains, decorations….

GrandmaCore

GrandmaCore isn’t just a trend, but a response to our busy modern lifestyle and its many social media and self-imposed stresses. GrandmaCore acknowledges simpler times, respect for the comforting presence of our grandparents, and a celebration of activities that refuel our souls.

Delightful Sweets

Something I adore about afternoon tea is that everything on the tea tray is small. So cute, so adorable. The miniature sweets look delicious and when the colours and flavours blend well along with the shapes being different this makes for a most DELIGHTFUL afternoon tea experience.

Afternoon Tea - Let's chat dainty tea sandwiches

Let’s chat Savories today. I have read and heard this first course referred to as the tea sandwiches or savories. I have adopted a differentiation for myself. It may not be traditional, and I may be the only one doing this but, if it is warm it is a savoury. If it is having bread, it is a sandwich. But little finger canape style offerings are also savories. Confused, don’t worry. It is all delicious either way.
